About the Role & Program:

At Disney, storytelling and technology move together. The Studio Technology team builds the intelligent backbone that powers global content operations. We design cloud-native, AI-driven systems that help deliver Disney’s stories to audiences everywhere. Join us in shaping the future of media workflows, where automation, orchestration, and creative technology converge to redefine how stories are made and shared.

The Studio Technology Team seeks forward-thinking team members who are passionate about delivering a reliable and scalable product, enjoy working closely with business partners on both strategic and tactical challenges, and are excited about building and optimizing Business to Business systems for a seamless user experience. We pride ourselves in staying up to date with the latest technologies, frameworks, and approaches to software architecture.

What You Will Do:

Within the Software Engineering group, this intern will be expected to:

  • Build real products that matter: design, develop, and support backend services and APIs that help power the systems behind Disney’s global storytelling.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: partner with engineers, product managers, and media technologists to deliver features that improve workflows across the studio.
  • Experiment with modern AI and automation tools: explore how AI-assisted coding, testing, and orchestration can accelerate software development and media supply chain efficiency.
  • Contribute to cloud-native, event-driven microservices using technologies like Spring Boot, Node.js, and modern databases.
  • Learn by doing: engage in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment, applying best practices for reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • See your work in action: help improve systems used by artists, producers, and content operations teams across Disney Studios.
  • Participate in agile team ceremonies (standups, demos, planning, retrospectives) and learn what modern engineering collaboration looks like at scale.
  • Share and grow: contribute to team learning sessions, tech talks, or internal documentation to strengthen collective knowledge and develop leadership skills.
  • Take ownership of a small proof-of-concept project: explore how new frameworks, data pipelines, or AI models could enhance Disney’s media workflows.

Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently as self-starters, manage their time appropriately, and function well within a diverse team.
