TRADE OPERATIONS
Analyst Role
This is a role to support DCL’s Import Export activities to be managed by the Trade Operations team under Trade Management, a team within Disney’s Parks Product Development and Retail division responsible
for overseeing import and export activities, ensuring compliance with all customs and international regulations in every shipping transaction.
The Export Analyst is responsible for the designation of export tariff classifications and ECCN’s (Export Control Classification Number)
Will also assist the Operations Manager in planning, forecasting, and conflict resolution for export related needs, addressing any other Customs related issues,
including those from other Partner Government Agencies (PGAs)
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Customs Specialists team to determine daily efforts needed to complete tariff classification and ECCN requests for both Imports and exports.
Ensure all tariff classification’s descriptions and ECCN’s designations are well justified and always documented.
Participate in product classification sessions/meetings and team operations meetings with internal and/or external partners as needed, leveraging work already executed by the Tariff Engineer Manager.
Periodically evaluate workflows with internal and external partners to identify and implement improvements.
Analyze team operating procedures periodically, identify areas for improvement, create and innovate solutions, and deliver training for the operations team.
Prepare and present weekly and or monthly KPI/Metrics reports, discussing them with the manager with a focus on problem-solving and forecasting.
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of IMPORT/ EXPORT operations, including RPS (Restricted Party Screening) processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Actively participate in the post-entry review process/ISA and discuss results with the team.
Maintain and update HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and FDA product code databases.
Participate in post-product classifications / Customs entry filings reviews to provide guidance to Specialists based on findings.
Support Customs Export Specialists in identifying and resolving issues that hinder customs clearances.
The role provides considerable input in establishing objectives for their area of responsibility. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting organizational objectives and schedules.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of tariff classification for both Import and Export in general merchandise particularly in areas of industrial and mechanical marine industry equipment and parts,
General construction materials, and food related industry equipment is highly welcomed.
Strong knowledge of the ECCN designation process and Restricted Party Screening.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as the role requires interaction with others.
Self-motivated, driven, and resilient
Experience in the Cruise Line Industry a plus
Education:
4 years business college degree or equivalent in Intl Trade courses
Certified (CES) or Master Export Specialists (MES) preferable
Certified Import Specialist (CIS)
5 to 10 years of experience in the Export industry
Computer science intermediate to advance knowledge
