Job Summary: 
Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD) is responsible for developing strategies to drive long-term growth for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). The CSBD team works closely with business leaders to drive and support strategy development and execution.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or private equity. The role requires strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities; demonstrated track record of leading complex strategic projects and driving deals or strategic partnerships; and the ability to work effectively in highly collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will communicate clearly and confidently in English, bring experience covering the APAC region, and be comfortable partnering with a broad range of stakeholders across multiple business lines and functional teams within TWDC.

Responsibilities: 

  • Drive Long Range Plan (LRP) and regional strategic reviews, with particular focus on Corporate, local Content, Theatrical, and other media-related businesses
  • Synthesize market, industry, and competitive intelligence to anticipate emerging trends and identify incremental and transformational growth opportunities for Disney Entertainment
  • Develop and evaluate business cases and strategic plans to capture new growth initiatives and adjacent opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Content team to shape DTC local content strategy in-region; oversee Content Planning & Analysis (CP&A) to ensure strategic alignment
  • Guide relevant Strategic Research initiatives
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of M&A and strategic partnerships across APAC, in close collaboration with cross-functional and global teams; build and manage key external relationships to advance corporate strategy

Professional Qualifications and Experiences

  • 15+ years of experience in top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or private equity, with a strong track record of leading complex strategic initiatives
  • Deep understanding of the media and content landscape in APAC, with strong familiarity across digital platforms and entertainment ecosystems
  • Proven experience operating at a regional level across APAC markets
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/scale a multi-functional Strategy/BD team to drive enterprise-level business outcomes
  • MBA from a top-tier business school strongly preferred, with 8+ years of post-MBA experience
  • Native/near-native fluency in English is required; professional working proficiency in Japanese, Korean, or Chinese is a plus
  • The candidate must be based in Tokyo or willing to relocate
